Cleaning? Should I use Acetone or Isopropyl alcohol….

Stubborn stains on your leather goods. Which chemical should I use? Acetone or Isopropyl?

This is also a question for me when I need to remove stains on leather products. Lets not go into the science of it cause you can Google it but lets understand what it can help you in daily life.

Both acetone and isopropyl are solvent. Acetone is solvent for nail polish, oil, markers, adhesives, paint and shoe finishes while Isopropyl is solvent for gum, resin, wood finishes, polishes and grease.

What happened if I mixed both for cleaning?

It is safe to mix it. They wont react. But bare in mind that acetone has the ability to dissolve many plastics.

If you apply Acetone on synthetic fabric, it will dissolve it. Do do not use on synthetic fabric.

What to clean using Isopropyl alcohol?

You can clean your tv or computer screen using mix of water at 1:1 ratio. Apply this inside of car windshield to avoid foggy.
